Doctor Piotr Zelga is a graduate of the Medical University in Łódź. He trained at the Clinic of General and Colorectal Surgery at the Medical University of Łódź, which is the central institution of colon and rectal diseases treatment in Poland. During his specialization training, he also took part in various national and international training programs, like for example, Basic Laparascopic Skills (Berlin, Germany) or Intermediate Laparoscopic Skills (Royal College of Surgeons, London, Great Britain). He also has done various clinical internships – ex. Internship at the Department of Surgery, Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Western Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
His doctoral thesis was about early detection and diagnosis of colorectal cancer on the basis of genetic profile of patient. His researches were awarded by the Experimental and Clinical Oncology Foundation in Poland and the Pancreatic Society of Great Britain & Ireland.
